Sculpture stolen from Victoria Park found in scrapyard by CCIC Staff

A STOLEN sculpture worth tens of thousands of dollars has turned up in pieces at a Perth scrapyard more than a year after it was taken, according to local Perth media.

Police said thieves disguised as maintenance workers swiped the 200kg artwork from a Victoria Park reserve in August last year.

CCIC surveyor Benny Wang at a Perth scrapyard called police after finding pieces of the $44,000 brass artwork named Hyatti, which means “you are my everything”, among piles of scrap metal on Tuesday.

CCIC has received a “thank you” message for Benny Wang from the local community.
